Sod that, I live half a mile from Ynwoan, it doesn't get more hifi than that.
I think that there was someone who heard or might have heard, or seen a picture of an amp and possibly speakers and folklore says a record player, who lived or used to live next door to this person in my road.

There used to be a Cash Converter in the next town. But we have the local phone shop that sells audio equipment. Some of the hifi they sell can even be used to make phone calls . Now how cool is that!
We've got a Linn/Naim dealer just up the road from us. They used to be a Hifi dealer once.....

Ah, you must live in (or near) Huntingdon!
Meridian
Audiolab / TAG Mclaren / IAG
Quad
NXT
Cyrus
Mission
EAR
Avid (now moved a short distance to Kimbolton)
Also Helius started in Hartford
I think Beard were also briefly hereabouts, not to mention the illustrious Sinclair Radionics!
Arcam are in Waterbeach, not too far away
Number of hifi shops ... zero.

Yeah but props to the Essex and Herts/Beds gang too, Rega (Southend) PMC (Luton) and it spills over into some pretty amazing pro-audio gear too - Thermionic Culture are in Harlow and make droolworthy toys like this:

EDIT: Notable mention to Suffolk too for having Sowter, the transformer people: http://www.sowter.co.uk/
