Quad 34 for sale. Serial Number 7328 - Manufactured approx. ’83/84.

This is an earlyish DIN socketed Quad 34.

This unit had been 'modded' in various ways in the past, so I've carefully restored it back to stock configuration & circuit values, with various high quality capacitors from Panasonic, Vishay, and parts from Quad themselves. All resistors also replaced with better quality hand-matched metal films. MM cartridge module included, which has again been rebuilt with hand-matched resistors for better channel separation, and Elna Silmic IIs. It sounds great.

The visual condition is average/good, with a few paint scuffs here & there, plus signs of wear around the volume control (please see the photos). The LEDs can go out sometimes, hence the lower than average asking price. This fault has been traced to the right-hand ribbon cable that connects to the front panel LED pcb. Could do with being replaced, though doesn't hinder operation in any way. It's a simple intermittent connection in one of the ribbon cable wires. A new 10-way computer ribbon cable will resolve the problem (**).

Output is stock at 0.5V, but it can be altered to 0.775V, 1.1V or 1.6V output (useful if used with Quad IIs) if preferred. Just let me know.

*** No cables included other than power - you'd need to already own, or get appropriate DIN cables from Flashback Sales or similar ***

I'd like £130 for this unit, with courier delivery costing an extra £10, unless you wish to collect in person (from Basingstoke).

Please PM if genuinely interested. No other offers of any kind please, or any swap suggestions, thanks.

Cheers,

John.

** Note: If I manage to source a suitable ribbon cable replacement I reserve the right to amend the price. So grab a bargain whilst you can ;)
