Perspex Dust Cover!!

I hope this is the right section for this little recommendation!! (As usual - no affiliation with this company - just a very happy customer)
Having been directed to a great Garrard 401 turntable by the "collective" I found that I wanted to protect it from dust and little fingers of the granddaughter I needed some form of cover. Not having room to fit a hinged lid and wanting to protect the whole unit I did some google "foo" and prices seemed very high on the usual sources and nothing quite matched what I required "off the shelf"...... After a bit more looking on the interweb I came across this company who happened to be on my own doorstep!! https://www.trentplastics.co.uk/

A quick e-mail with my requirements was answered the very next day - Custom built to my dimensions came to £115 inc VAT and no delivery as I live 2 mins away :) Lead time was 3-5 working days from payment :) :)

Looks very nice. Considering it's a one off, bespoke item the price is not unreasonable.

I found them very easy to deal with, and they double check all your dimensions etc prior to making. Had a cut out section on the rear to allow for the usual cables to exit as well :) :) Very robust and the quality is excellent

Nice one Graham - Btw, I'd highly recommend a carbon fibre brush over the velvet pad type you have by your deck. I found the velvet pad brushes tend to push the dust / dirt into the grooves whereas the carbon fibre brushes lift it out in my experience. I have the Blue Horizon anti static probrush but Milty, Audioquest, Project all do one. There are also loads of other no-name versions that do a great job without the cost :)

I got a similar style lid (one that covers whole table, rather than sitting on the plinth with hinges) earlier this year for my LP12. Cut-out on the rear for cables. Got mine from here: http://www.inperspextive.com/index.php?route=common/home

Was about £60 including delivery, which is a good price and certainly beats paying over £100 for an official Linn one.

I've been after some 3mm ivory perspex for my Quad 33 and was having trouble finding it in small amounts in that colour - they have an A4 sheet for £1.86 = perfect :)
