it was far better than VHS, pity it didn't catch on over here, seems a lifetime ago, seems now that as soon as new tech is released for sale it's obsolete. Think about it, vinyl is becoming more and more popular, but of all the commonly used recording mediums, it had the longest lifespan, people grew to love it, could the same be said for CD or cassette, both had a much shorter life before they were replaced with the next big thing, folks didn't grow up with it, then take it into adulthood like was the case with vinyl.
