Having seemingly underpriced all my vinyl:eek:, when I come to list my cd collection what is the average price I should be asking?

Unless rare cds dont have much value. Better keeping them imo

+1 for what grant say's - I've seen large collections (500+) go for £40 on evilbay!!! DVD's are the same!!! All mine are in the loft - can't bear to throw 'em out :( :(

Nice boxsets often sell well as do stuff thats out of print etc. amazon can be your friend here; check the used versions for a guide

IE this album is out of print and hard to find thus the silly prices... PS I have a mint copy ;)

Some SACD and DVD-A titles fetch good prices. Ordinary CDs really £2 a pop is the best you can hope for.

I'd would concur with the others Steve. Keep hold of them if you can. Tried selling a few to used shops but they offer little if anything, even in exchange. Had a little more success on Discogs. I kept my real favourites and out of print things but basically sold a large proportion of them on fleabay as a job lot and gave some to friends. Lack of space in the house dictated . Funny how CDs have gone the same way value wise as vinyl did, broadly speaking, many years ago.

Will keep them stashed in the box then

I didn't realise that some multi channel formats attract a premium, I only have 3 and having a quick look on the net and 2 seem to go for reasonable money - Rumours dvd-a and Ziggy Stardust sacd.

Yes, it is worth checking the value of your DVD-A discs in particular, before you sell them cheap or give them away (like I did - doh!)
