how to use a giff for your profile/avatar pic

as above ive tried directly from my pc and that doesn't play the giff,ive also uploaded it to photobucket and tried all the links and all i get is invalid file?
any pointers chaps?

Think the problem lies with resizing of gifs. If you do it yourself in a good program it should work though. Often the resizer in a forum will stop it animating..there are online gif reducing programs available
