Just seen this new tonearm - 10.3 inch for SL1210 ..... the mounting kit and instructions look very good.

Check it out - very favourable reviews for the original 9.5 inch, the longer one will be even better with less tracking distortion.
Cost effective tonearm option too!

That explains that. I thought the Pug looked like a copy/clone, relieved to read it isn't, simply showing its manufacturing origin.

Have to say that fitting a 10 inch arm on a Technics is borderline pushing it, doable but only just.

I would assume that the last picture in the instructions is the 10.3 inch arm. If not, the 10.3 inch arm is going end up extending past the table.

Yes, that pinterest link confirms that's the 10.3 inch version of the arm. It actually looks like the deck handles a 10 inch arm really well. :)

Most interesting indeed... If the 10.3 Wand sounds as good as I suspect it will, I think that we could have another potential 'giant-killer' on our hands - and perhaps a new 'de-facto standard' tonearm for the Technics.

I'm mostly interested in the Plus version which includes an armlift and that costs about 30% more but still good value. The Classic version wouldn't be wife/daughter friendly enough in my household. I really like the idea of a 10.3 inch arm on the Techy.

I found some needledrop comparisions with the stock arm on another forum. Big improvement and I think that's with the 9.5" version of the arm!

There's no doubt whatsoever that if I were in the market now for a tonearm for the Technics, the 10.3 Wand is the one I'd go for. If I weren't so delighted with the sound I'm getting from my Ortofon (and wanted to facilitate an SPU), I could well be tempted! :)

The needledrop on the SH form also sounds very good, and I presume an otherwise stock Technics T/T was used to produce the recording? Also, I didn't see any mention of what cartridge was used for the test.

I verified with the poster at SH forum that the table is bone stock and the only mod is the arm (9 inch version). He also let know that he was using a Denon 301mk2 cartridge in those flac files.

I think this is the direction I'm going to go.

I ordered The Wand Plus 10.3 inch and it's being prepared now. I'm not planning on installing it though until I get my bearing and platter and that might be a few weeks yet. When I do, I'll snap a bunch of pictures of everything and post about it.

I have a wand tonearm (currently in use on my SRM) and Im collecting a stock 1210 this weekend so it could be that the 2 come together at a point not too far in the future.
