A pair of classic dual concentric monitor gold speakers in working order. Pictures at the bottom.

Probably not the best way to start a sales pitch but I'll get the bad bits out of the way first:

These came to me in a rather sorry state. They had been unused for many years.
The main functional issue was that someone had poked a hole in the edge of one of the cones. New re-cone kits for these are not easy to find now, so after some good advice from a member on here (thank you), I found that the material was all still present and I was able to tease it gently out and re-glue it bit by bit until the hole was bridged (see pictures).
I've reinforced some of the joins on the back with filter paper. I used rigid PVA glue on the cone itself and Aileen's Tacky glue on the surround which remains flexible when dry.
The cone is now structurally sound as far as I can tell, and there is no obvious effect on the sound when listening next to the other one. It probably looks worse on the pictures than reality but better that, than the other way round.
The foam (mounting?) ring (not the suspension surround but another ring glued to the chassis) is missing on the damaged unit but I've no idea what this is for.
The other drive unit is undamaged.

Treble and bass parts of both drive units are working. No distortion apparent.

The crossovers and internal wiring appear to be all original and in good working order. They still have the original tin plugs that push fit into the drive units. I found that I had to clean up the pins as they weren't making good contact causing intermittent treble. Been working fine since but if I was keeping them, I'd probably replace with some of the newer gold plated connectors.

The cabinets were in poor condition - mostly just scratches and scuffs but a couple of corners had been knocked. I've filled any deeper damage with a walnut coloured filler more to stabilise the veneer than hide the damage (see last pictures for a couple of examples). The cabinets have then been lightly sanded back, refinished in walnut and waxed. They now look pretty respectable although they still have what the antiques trade would politely call a 'patina of age' meaning you can see where some of the scratches were!

The original grille cloth on the damaged one was ruined and it was filthy on the other one so I removed it and I've made a new pair of grilles up for them which are covered in brown acoustic cloth as pictured. I'm pretty pleased with the results but bear in mind that they are home made.

So there you have it, a pair mid size (small for Tannoys!) monitors in working order with that classic Tannoy sound and imaging.

As you can imagine, these are quite difficult to price. I've seen good examples fetch nearly a grand on ebay and just the drive units and crossovers up to around half that.
Clearly the damage and repairs are going to have a significant effect on the value but I have little feel for how much.

As I've put quite a bit of work into them, I'd like to start by asking around £500 and see where we get. That should give you plenty of scope to pick up another drive unit should you ever need one.
The pictured stands are not included but I do have an almost identical pair of Atacama SL400 that are available separately.

These will need picking up from just outside Bicester in person please as I'd like you to demo and inspect them before sale to make sure you are happy. I've done my best to make them as good as I can but I can't offer any sort of guarantee given the repair so you buy them as they are.

Thanks for looking, here's some pictures:

Hi Geoff. The missing foam ring you refer to is just there to cover the screws holding the cone retainers, or if the drive units are back mounted on the front baffle, it acts as a gasket. This is not a critical part and can easily be replaced. It has no effect on normal operation of the speakers as shown.

Nice speakers by the way. You've done a decent job on them.
