The ONLY real audible difference between these and the 30.1 is in a slightly 'adjusted' tonal balance - tilted a little brighter in the 30.1 and with a price hike to justify it!

These are bloody good speakers with a totally better bass than the C7-ES3 - in UK rooms anyway - and a truly beguiling midrange, topped off with a superbly integrated and sweet treble. Use them on 18" to 20" stands ideally ('Something Solid' are great for UK users).

Sorry to interrupt, but the M30 series are some of my favourite Harbeth speakers (I have heard the SHL5+ extensively but I've not heard the 40.2 yet). Practical size, a bass alignment on both models that rolls away gently more like a sealed box (no 'porty warmth/boom' here) and a lovely solid build and great finish giving pride in ownership.

Good luck with the sale - Someone should bite your hand off for these IMO...

Thanks, I agree.

I had them quite close to the side walls in a 14x14 room and the sound is magnificent driven by my 15w Leben.

I don't like to invade a sales thread with discussion, but this is completely wrong and needs correcting. Please listen again.

How so? I compared them extensively at the time and the main difference is balance-tilt, the ever-so-slightly livelier bass to midrange balance helping subtleties come through better. The LS5/9, 30 and 30.1 are more similar than different, but you can hear the extra refinement as you go from one generation to another - I refuse to claim HUGE differences when they're not really there and even the rather flawed (in comparison) LS5/9's can quite easily show differences further back in the chain :) I'm just trying to help this sale along a bit, as these are so much better than so many other new speakers under £1500, ok? Oh yeah, the crossover redesign in 30.1's may reduce its inline effects as has happened with the SHL5+ and 40.2 and with some amps, this will also make a difference. I have it on record how much I love and respect the 30.1 anyway.

M30's with a 15W Leben? - Now THAT's something I would disagree on, and it's something Alan Shaw keeps banging on about - low powered amps into less sensitive speakers like his.

Anyway, I hope someone buys these speakers. they really are a cut above so many better looking stand mounts out there imo.

Hi guys, please remember that this is a sales thread so please take banter elsewhere.

Thanks
Josie

I don't want to banter, but I think it's important to address incorrect information; the M30.1 are in no sense 'bright'. They have a very slightly recessive present region which is accentuated off axis. This makes them the opposite of bright.

Thanks all for the comments.
Back to the topic. Speakers are still available for a nice home.

Final banter from me I promise as I hoped to help sell these. I thought I'd said the 30.1's were brighter than the 30's (they are). Doesn't mean they're 'bright toned' as such, just nearer to 'flat' instead of gently downtilted :)

Hasn't anyone bought these yet? They really are several notches (and more) above PMC, Kudos, Neat and Spendor equivalents, having done comparisons some time ago...

if nobody here wants a superior, if plain looking stand-mount, may I suggest joining the HUG and advertising them there. Plenty of keen Harbeth owners there ;)

Bernie was offered this by me and turned it down. If he is cool with it then fine. If he wants things out he only has to ask and we shall look at it.
I dont think anyone was intending any insult to the speakers including Dave who has intimated such to me.

Absolutely not; these are fantastic speakers. And the original M30 are a great value second hand buy.
