So an introduction ey.
My name is Christoffer and i live in Norway "im a swede", I just moved back from Gran Canaria and now when i'm settled in a normal apartment again i have decided to pick up an old passion of mine and that is of course Hifi.
Mainly turntables and some odd cd now and then, seeing that i sold everything when i moved abroad i have the last month been picking up bargains from ebay/craigslist and even at a thriftstore.

My setup will probably change at a monthly basis now the first 6 month but as it stand today: Speakers: Avance epsilon 980, Amp: Cambridge Audio Azur 640A, CD: Pioneer pd-s505 with new op amp "LM4562", Turntable: Rega RP1 with RB250 arm, michell underslung weight, incognito cables and exact cartridge. Phono stage: Rega fono mini.

I'm here to learn and discuss.

Take care folks

..//Chris

Thank you Grant, i'm certain that i will enjoy this place. The S-505 i actually found in a thrift store for 100nok "10 pounds i guess". I remembered a friend having that model so i knew how it sounded like, happy with that find.
I have a total of 4cds though so as you can imagine it's not the most used equipment in my setup, fun to test things on though like the opamp also designing a wooden case for it at the moment.

with a nice dac it can sound very good. I mostly use my RPI player with my cd rips now or the TT; cd player gets little time although it does sound good. Plenty knowledgeable folk here if you have any needs.

Yea i reckon my system will sound better then what i had before the move withing a couple months time, the speakers is a keeper but i need a better phono stage and im looking at a couple different tube amps.
My music taste is wide and includes Jazz, Blues, a lot of Aucustic and rock.

Certainly if you are happy with the speakers, then keep them. The CD player is a good one too. If you want to chat about amp choices, start a thread in the Blank Canvas area and see what people have to say.
