My name is Edward and I live in Vancouver on Canada's wet coast.
Been involved with building/buying hifi for decades.
Over the years my listening room has been home to an array of hifi components, many of which are now considered Classics.
My (ever changing) system presently consists of a Softone Model 3 CD Transport, Altmann Attraction DAC, Charlize 2 Class D amplifier and a pair of mint, stock Tannoy Monitor Gold 12" I found in an alley.
I believe batteries and wood make for good hifi.
Attached is a photo of the Attraction DAC with Charlize 2.
A Buffalo 32s into Hypex amps is/are under construction.
Should be ready in 10 days or so.

Thank you for creating AOS - it's a terrific site.

Sincerely,
harrylime6

Hi Ed/Harry,
Welcome to AoS. You're right it's a great place to be.

I believe batteries and wood make for good hifi.

As a forester who's visited your part of the world a few times, I guess most folk in BC have at least a tiny little bit of timber in their DNA!
Hear's hoping you get as much from the site as I and many others have.
Cheers

Hello Edward (or do you prefer Ed?),

Welcome to AoS. Interesting system you have there. That was a very lucky find you made in the alley; we have few Tannoy fans here. Battery powered electronics should avoid problems of 'dirty' mains.

When you can, we would like to see more photographs of your system, especially the Tannoys. Also what are you musical tastes?

Enjoy the forum.

Regards

Hi Edward,

Gotta move to Canada some time soon, no chance of finding any working speakers in a back alley here, let alone mint Tannoys.

Interesting stuff you got there. Oh, and welcome to AoS, by the way :)
