I have found a pair of these for €200
Are they any good?

One of the centres of the bass driver is slightly pushed in, but nothing bad. Should be fixable with a vacuum cleaner.

Never tried them mate , but they do look like rather interesting old school speakers .

I thought you had Frugalhorns you loved to bits. How many bits of kit can you listen to music on at one time?

Ask Audio Al.

Me come to that, there are still two rooms without a hi-fi in our house now - must fix that even if I can no longer hear them properly:lol:

Ah well, the sad truth is that the little cars and track are toys really. What I want to play with is these. They will have to wait until next year though as the big track is going into the barn and I need to build a room for it out there. They are much too big for the plastic track and the transformers would die if I tried to run them. The two on the right pull around 20 amps on stall so need something quite strong. We used to use truck batteries at the club.

And what does Mrs Cagey have to say about this?? We are out next week (9th to 13th - flying into Blagnac) to try to deal with gates, planning permission, broadband and generally drown our sorrows about our time-waster buyers

However, we have had 11 viewings this week, 2 more tomorrow, 3 very interested and one firm offer who has phoned the agent 4 times this weekend to see if we will accept it. Hopefully it won't be too long before the ESL's head south. We are now targetting 3rd week in February, to let me get one last tax-return season out of the way in Blighty

Watch out!

a big no no to the vacuum cleaner!!
I recommend using paper masking tape...use a piece about 6 inch long across the face of the cone, gently scrape it into the dustcap with your fingernail and then pull up both ends GENTLY and the cap will return to shape.
DO NOT use sellotape or insulation tape...way too tacky!!!

NIGE.

If masking tape does not grip well enough to pull the dent out, try waxing strips (you know, the type for pulling hair out). They grip rather well, but won't cause damage.

And your hairy legs'll come up lovely and smooth!
