Help... size of bearing screws

Hi,

I have unmounted my bearing and the head of one of the screws has ruined after the use of screwdriver. My fault :)

So I'd like to buy a new set of screws.
I've looked for it in the web but have found nothing.

So I'd like to buy it from an online hardware shop but I need to know the size of the screws and the type of thread.

Can someone help me?

Well it's Japanese, so it will be a metric thread. Just measure the screw, and that will tell you.

Hi Eu 73,
If you are talking about the 3 screws that hold the coil assembly onto the bearing and the chassis.
These are special Techie self tap ones and would not be available in any hardware store.
They have a top locating diameter which fits into the plastic cover and locates onto the laminated stator of the coil assembly.

On My Bearing Base Plate I use standard available 1/8" tensile Whit bolts.
You should be able to get them from any service group that specialise in TT repairs.

The original screws on the SL1200 are self-tap.
You would need to tap out the three holes in the chassis to suit the thread on the bolt.
If a standard thread is forced into the holes the bolts could seize.

My mistake!

Just a quick question. When i fix the base plate and it had increased the height by 6mm will the original bearimg screws still be long enough or does the bearing have to be epoxyed to the base plate?

Hi Andrew,
I supply three 1/8 Whit tensile bolts which are long enough to reach through the 6mm steel
Base Plate.These are slightly larger in dia. than the OEM ones.

I think I get it but can you email me the instructions for the glued down version instead of the bolted down version please.

No Problem Andrew,
I normally attach the Installation Instructions for all my upgrades at the time when I notify
the user that the item has been shipped. This way they don't get lost or forgotten about.
