Genuine feelings of anger over this
(Clue - it looks nothing like the picture on the tin)

Always been curious about these things, picked one up the other day.
Cooked in oven, smelled ok-ish enough, pastry looks good, puffed up nicely.

Put my knife into it to cut it and it was like bursting a balloon. Thing went flat.
OK...

Took a forkful and of the "meat" in gravy and in the name of Jim Christ I spat it straight out.
The texture, the taste, and the supposed "chicken"....?
Looked like brown compressed dog meat.
Straight in the bin, if I had a dog I wouldn't have give it to him.

Awful. :(

Vile shite been there decades ago. I think I had some sort of beef based effort.

The degree of badness just beggars belief. I wonder if anyone has ever eaten one in full.

I have to agree. Tried one about a year ago. They are complete disgusting shite! Fray Bentos have a cheek trying to sell something so revolting. Even Tescos dismal 'value' chicken pies aren't as bad, even if they are pretty dire (what is that grey sludge they put in them?).

Meat does not belong in a tin. Dog food.

I tried the steak and kidney version years ago. Couldn't get past one mouthful. Worse than dog food. Yes I've eaten that too.

The worst thing is they are not cheap. I reckon the tin costs more than the 'food' inside.

I would throw it out Gary . Some people I now kept a similar thing for too long and it exploded

Im going to a halloween party tomorrow and some mates have put together a "Bush Tucker " game. ie like the "celebrities in jungle eating beasties nonsense."

Im going to have to be a party pooper as Im not eating anything that I dont know exactly what it consists off. Hopefully I remember this statement by the time I have lots of beer down my neck.
