Been lurking for quite a while so I thought I'd better introduce myself.

My introduction to Hi-Fi was back in the early sixties when I helped my dad put together a system: EMI EPU100, Sugden/Connoisseur idler drive, Rodgers HG88, Rola-Celestion Colaudio speakers. By the mid seventies I was buying my own system: Linn LP12, SME 3009 II/V15III, Cambridge P110, IMF ALS40, and this served me well for nearly twenty years. Since then various other things have come and gone until, after a recent house move, I'm down to an iPod Touch, FiiO Montblanc and Sennheiser HD600s while I trawl the forums looking for ideas to start from scratch again.

Music tastes? Mainly Classical and Female Vocal, but will try anything at least once.

Hi narabdela. Welcome to AOS.

Sounds like you've been doing Hi-Fi for a hell of a long time. I know all the items of equipment you've mentioned. Few would, so I'm guessing you're about my age. :)

You've come to the right place for ideas. Members use just about every kind of equipment you can imagine.

Can you please enter a name and location (country/area) into your profile. We operate on a first name basis to keep things sociable and it helps to know where members are. Thanks.

Enjoy the forum,
Geoff.

Welcome to AoS Hugh,

Your Dad had quite an exotic system for the time: EMI EPU100 - not many people use those, nor the Connoisseur TTs. :) Your own system at that time was more conventional, but a very good one nonethless.

You are embracing modern audio much better than I am! Well done.

Enjoy the Forum

Barry
