Early in the new year we will be moving to a smaller place.

I will now invite offers for all of the items below. No lowballing please, I'd rather put the gear in storage. Any viewing or demonstration is welcome by arrangement in Liverpool.

B&W 801 series 80 - Exceptional for year, including manuals, grilles and hoods. Iconic and 'up there'. £1,200 ono.

Nakamichi CA7/PA7 pre power. Exceptional condition and entirely serviced and recapped. Fully adjustable integrated phono stage (MM and MC) included. £2k.

Garrard 401, NW Analogue slate plinth with Nottingham Analogue Ace Anna 12" tonearm - Exceptional condition. £2k complete ono, arm £1,200
In the words of Stewart Wennan, "That main bearing's hardly been used!" Isoplatmat, Loricraft cork and original mats included.

Denon PMA850 integrated amp - some marks, fully recapped with integrated MM and MC phono stage. Owes me £500, offers over £400.

Squeezebox touch - Boxed, manuals and minty. £180

Beresford Caiman 1 DAC in VGC = £100 ono.

Klark Teknik Jade 1 active studio monitors. Fully recapped, some marks but good condition. £500 o.n.o

Kef Reference 103. Great condition for the year. Recapped crossovers. £300 ono.

Stands. Massively OTT, a man's speaker stand! £200 ono.

I already have a definite offer on the Nakamichi. Ideally I would like to keep the 801's with the Nakamichi as they are a very rare pairing, voiced together.

I know the Denon PM850 personnally...I delivered it half way down country with wee tam...Had it in my system for a couple of weeks,,and it was sublime then...before the re-cap was carried out...I couldn't afford to buy it from Tommy then..wish I'd borrowed the money from somewhere..this is some amplifier...infact it's a beast..class A here folks..

You're right Alan. It's one of the best integrated amps I have heard. It would cost a fortune if it was made now and was a fortune when it was first made; £670 in 1977 was a lot of money. The recap elevated its performance once again and of course prolongs its life.

Hi,

Is the Denon a Mark I or II as according to thevintageknob only the Mark II is class A/B.

Just wanting to clarify as this might do me as a stop gap whilst my TQ Claymore goes to the hospital.

Mike.

The Denon is the mark 1 and you're correct regarding the class AB. I suspect it wouldn't end up as a stop gap!

Hi Geoff

If you should decide to split the turntable up (if not no worries), I would be interested in the 401 motor unit, if the price is right. The plinth wouldn't interest me as I would prefer to use a different style.

Is the motor unit fitted with the NW bearing ?

It looks like the 401, plinth and arm are sold as a deposit has been paid today.

Nakamichi amps back up for sale. A rather amusing misunderstanding but every time I think they're selling I get a bit nervous anyway. The best amps I've had but hugely over specified for our new place.

I bought a tuner from Geoff and, as Brian said above, he really is one of the good guys, those BW speakers look amazing BTW.

GLWTS Geoff.

Thanks Tony. The 801's are incredible; neutral and effortless. Unfortunately my new space is just too small or I'd keep them forever.

Hi,

I would have made an offer on the Denon but was confused about specs, would I be right in saying the one sold was NOT Class A?

The sale of it previously seems to have gotten specs wrong as to Class and weight etc or have I read all I've seen about that particular amp wrongly?

Any info would be great in case it appears back up for sale.

Thanks,

Mike.

It is not class a. The mark 2 offered a class a facility, as did the lesser 830. I think it was Alan (Madmoon) who said it was class a.

Keep them Geoff. If you sell, you'll just spend the next few years frustrated, failing to find a comparable replacement.

You may well be right. The Garrard and Ace Anna are being collected today and that is in itself the end of an era for me.

Having collected the stunning Garrard and had the opportunity to listen to the Nakamichi amps and B & W speakers, all I can say is that all of Geoffs kit is totally fantastic!

The pre amp and power amp are utterly revealing and stunningly powerful. The amps are in fantastic condition and drive the speakers incredibly well.

The bass is thunderous and the quality of the sound unbelievable!

I'd like to thank Geoff for spending so much time allowing me to wallow in the glory of his system and sharing some of his music collection.

If my house was not quite so bijou, I suspect I'd be travelling back to Liverpool with a van to purchase the amps and speakers!

Although I didn't listen to the Kefs, I can assure anyone thinking about purchasing any of the stuff Geoff has, don't hesitate...it's all fantastic and in superb condition!

Thanks, Stu

Move delayed until October 2016.

Everything still up for sale but no rush means I can bask in 801 glory for a good while yet!
