I see the new JBLs were there. I think they go on sale next month. $15000 in the U.S so presumably £15K here since that is how it seems to work for some reason.

We'll set the lawyers on those 'Art Of Sound' people, don't worry ;)

Nice pics. What did the systems sound like? Any particularly good set ups?

Having regularly attended the Heathrow Hifi News shows in the 90's, I think my experience since and foray into DIY and the de-bunking of the myths of "it looks and costs a bomb so it must be good". I think I now suffer from moderate Cynicosis (if that is a word) and am not immediately wowed by looks or price tags.

The Show. Overall impression was of being underwhelmed. There was a ticket only demo by Absolute Sounds. We were right at the back and so not able to get a good pic, so I didn't bother. The kit was Magico S7 speakers and Constellation amplification. Those that were with me agreed that a half decent PA system would have done as well as these.

The Leema speakers were very good, probably the only kit that left a positive impression, the only other reasonable sound was the Quad room with their new Amp and the yet to be launched (white) multi drive unit floor standers. I preferred these to the Electrostatics that had huge bass, but a bit too much for me.....and I an a bass head.

The GT Audio room was making a pleasant noise, but to use the word "nice" is often seen as a backhanded compliment......

The Heco speakers were lovely to look and sounded ok. For some reason they remind me of a current Fiat 500.....and could be promoted alongside.

Reminds me of the TAD demo at Cranage except the speakers there were 'only' £45K
