My name is Ian and I live just north of Coventry.
Despite recent evidence to the contrary, I'm more interested in music than in hifi. Good music sounds good on anything! I was brought up on Abba, the Carpenters, Don McClean and John Denver.
My first system was a Sony midi with separate CD player in 1987. Within a year of getting this, I gave away all of my records including a complete set of New Order 12" singles -> doh!!
I tried to get back into vinyl this year and whilst I acknowledge that it can sound stunning, finding and buying music was proving expensive and problematic, so I'm selling all my vinyl kit.
My current kit is Cyrus CDT transport -> Meitner MA1 DAC -> Triode TRV-845se valve amp -> LV Avatar OBX speakers.
My musicals tastes are varied from 80s synth, ambient, folk, soul, R&B, rock, country, a bit of classical and occasionally Jazz but only the stuff where everyone is playing the same tune. :)
