ditton 44 a quick stupid question

as is common knowledge the hf2000 tweeter has the polarity reversed,is this done in the x-over or is it simply done buy just swapping the black/red wires that go onto the tweeter??

not right now,i just had one of them funny moments when you suddenly have doubt in your mind,if you know what i mean.
id been reading a lot of threads regarding 44 crossovers and now and again someone would post,"dont forget the hf2000 has its polarity reversed". as i had rewired mine i new it was done at the x over which makes me wonder how many 44 owners have changed the wires over at the speaker terminals after reading such comments?
i was just seeking clarification incase i was going do lally!

regarding mine and placement,as i mentioned in your thread,i have them now where they sound good so i thought id put the stand spikes back on, arghhhhhhhh the sound has totally changed! lol sorted again now though.

when i do the internal wires im thinking of mounting the x-over externally ,whats your thoughts?

Lol, I know exactly what you mean!

Mounting the x-overs externally will be the first thing I do in the next series of mods, more for convenience than anything else but I imagine it could only reap positive rewards, I'll let you know how I get on.

to answer your question regarding what internal wire im using its Van Damme Blue Series Studio Grade,i didn't want to clutter up your blog so i thought id answer here. :)

I've used VD Blue too. New components arrived and installed to burn in. The MD500's a revelation, well either that or open core Jantzen inductors make a massive difference to the sound of the speakers :eek:, Still early days, maybe 20 hours, in but I think my days of playing with the 44's D5 are over! I'm hoping to get the x-over externalised before the end of the week if I have the time.
