Where does it say the Q-tips are for cleaning ears? I assumed he meant cassette deck heads, for which they are perfect! :D

It's certainly true that there is lots of "accepted wisdom" amongst audiophiles that is complete bollocks.... and much that is really important but because it's technical and can't be changed by just unplugging one "thing" and plugging in a different one is ignored/brushed under the carpet by all but the most technically aware of our brethren...
Anyone found audiophiles labouring over supports or mains cables but who haven't noticed the tweeter is blown on one channel.... or that the amp is faulty enough to be giving 5% distortion? I have. And more than once!
