Shane, i had a cd73t for 3/4 of years, it could be said it had a warm sound, personally i found it incredibly boring to listen to.mine was also very unreliable , went back to arcam twice and then it just died. i had it paired with an arcam a80 amp, i dont remember my speakers at the time, jim

This one's cheap. No remote, but they're easy to come by. You've heard one at my place. Lovely smooth sounding player. I rate it as more musical than the Meridian 206 (but there's not a lot in it).

I have an Alpha One CD, I wouldn't call it warm, but it does have a slightly deeper mid range than the Pi with Sabre Dac on it, it's not unpleasant.

I also have an Alpha amp, which is definitely not warm - but does good works under the telly...

Had an Alpha one - loved it , it was a tad warm but in a good way in my system, replaced it with a CD17 - nasty, horrid, abrasive clinical sound, didn't hang around long, again system dependent I guess

Arcam Alpha and Alpha Plus were warm and rich sounding IMO.

I had an 8se cd player coupled to an 8 amp and 8p power amp driving bw speakers, reckon they were neutral to warm sounding.

I'm using an Arcam CD36 which I've had since 2010 and really love it's sound. Hard to really compare it as my previous CD players were cheap tat. I do find the sound to be highly detailed yet relaxed and not in your face or overly bright. I wouldn't call it warm though. The DACs in it must be really good because I recently purchased Arcam's D33 DAC on clearance and there is barely any difference (that I can hear). The best thing about the D33 is the different filter settings, filter 2 is my favourite and just edges out the CD36 DACs. I now only use the CD36 as a transport.

I'm also using Arcam pre and power amps into XTZ speakers (which have ribbon tweeters) and it never gets fatiguing to listen to. Detail is stunning, yet no harshness.

Then again, many would consider Arcam gear to be budget......
