Hope someone can shed some light on this. I had a look at one of these the other day with a view to buying. According to the strobe it was not holding speed on either 33 or 45. I understood it had a magnetic strip on the underside of the platter that worked in conjunction with a pickup. On inspection there was no magnetic strip evident. I have, however, seen it described not only as a strip ( that appeared to be able to be physically moved) but also as a magnetic coating. Does anyone know which is correct? Does anyone have one they could photograph for me ? I realise that the speed problem might be down to other factors but having not seen the 'physical' strip I walked away. I now wonder if I missed something with the coating. What I did see was just a rust red paint coating that did not appear to have any discernible pattern. I know mido sold one on here not long ago, was it to another member? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.
