Selling my Art Audio Concerto MK2 amp, pure Class A push pull tube amp.
This one has had Definitive Audio upgrades which include 10 expensive Hovland Musicaps (the yellow caps in the internal pic, renowned for superb sound), some Wima caps (red caps) and Kondo silver wiring upgrades. This was done by a previous owner for considerable cost.
I've had a stock Concerto Mk2 in the past and this upgraded one sounds far better. Same very musical sound but clearer/more transparent. Fitted with Hama 6550 tubes with only 20 hours on them. Can also take KT88, KT90, KT120 and KT150 tubes (confirmed with Tom Willis) if desired for more power.
This is the better MK2 version of the Concerto that has a redesigned chassis for better heat dissipation and split core dual output transformers with 8 and 4 ohm taps. The original MK1 version only had 6 ohm taps so was much less flexible, speaker wise.
Priced at a bargain £1375, - even cheaper than all the stock ones I've seen for sale, which usually go for £1700-1800. The Concerto is no longer made but Tom Willis recently told me if it was new the price would be over £4K. It's a wonderful sounding tube amp, and hand built in the UK. The trannies are also UK sourced (from Sowter).
Can demo if necessary. Selling it because I'm downsizing. Very reluctant sale.
Pickup would be preferred (London) but I should be able to post in the UK for about £40 once I find a suitable box or two.
