...as per above just some screen shots of my settings on an IQdac+ and a SABREdac version. Might help folk configure easier than guesswork. Not saying these are definitive but they work well for me,

IQ+

Hi,

For the IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ and DigiAMP+ the volume configs below work well. Similar to Grant's screen shots. These devices work perfectly with ALSA and are correctly configured where ALSA 100% volume = 0dB

- MPD Hardware volume + Logarithmic curve + Max volume % = 100
- MPD Software volume + ALSA volume % = 100

For Hifiberry DAC+ and DAC+ Pro Dual Clock

- Same as above except volume % = 81 to compensate for ALSA 100 > 0dB with these devices. It appears that they register an overly wide hardware volume range with ALSA.

Question:

@Grant, Which model Sabre DAC are u using?

Regards,
Tim

think its the ES9023 B but dont quote me lol. got the clock etc and got it direct from audiophonics. it was the top model at the time, which was not all that long ago but will no doubt be out of date now.
