You're not the first. People seem to get attached to them. Great little speakers! :)

They are indeed and I never got the best from them with my amp. I've had a look around ont net and they're becoming a bit thin on the ground so they're staying put, in a box for now:)

For future reference Geoff, any recommendations? Up to say £500, pre-owned or new? I asked on here a bit back, Sony got a mention and I hear some of the NAD stuff works well, jim

If you're very lucky you might get a Sugden A21a for that sort of money. Like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sugden-Class-A-A21a-Phono-Integrated-Amplifier-/231714679972?hash=item35f3456ca4
There's a user review here that sums it up well enough: Amp/Preamp Asylum: http://www.audioasylum.com/reviews/Integrated-Amplifier-SS/Sugden/A21a/amp/107824.html

You'd need to add the cost of a pre-amp though. A simple passive is not suitable, so an active or TVC type would be best.
