Hi all.

I've had some new isloation platforms made and wondered if Vibrapod Isolators are any good. I'm looking at these because they don't need any fixings.

Any experience, advice or ideas would be great.

Thanks

Looks like Sorbothane to me which works when heavy applications are sat upon it, usually precision lathes to minimise vibration. My ATC speakers weight 56kg each and they live on a 6mm sheet, can't say it made a massive difference but I was happy with the money I spent for the improvement in the soundstage.

Hey Jo, I use exactly those in the photo and I would not be without them. I place them under an isolation shelf which I then sit my TT on which is fairly heavy. They do the trick in this position and help isolate vibration from the surface of the table coming back up through the isolation platform.

They are so cheap worth having a try with your gear anyway i would imagine?:)

Hi Josie

I have the Vibrapod feet, as supplied by Art Audio on most of my kit, really good results as far as sound stage is concerned

Thanks Jim, Doc for the info... sounds good. :)

They will be under my TT and amp so should be fine.

Good advice regarding the Sorbothane sheet too, Andrew.

Wow.. that looks like a nice bit of kit, Jim... they look expensive, is it worth it?

They are effective under my preamp, not tried them under anything else but they certainly work although they are expensive.
