I watched this again last night. A very good documentary by the BBC which is worth the licence fee alone.

Yes, that was a very good documentary.

I found it interesting that German youth, post-war, were looking for something unique musically and not wanting to simply follow/copy what was coming out of the USA. Hence no R&B, but guitar and keyboards using sound manipulation processes and musique concrète.

And a whole lot better than the schmaltzy, kitsch “schlager” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlager) that was prevalent at the time.

I guess it was their 'Year Zero' Barry, with a certain element of Synchronicity thrown in. It's beautiful really.
