Ive just heard from a mate in America.
Wilton Felder died yesterday, 27th Sept.
He was probably best known for being the sax player with the Crusaders ( "Street Life " etc etc ) but played on lots of other peoples albums and had some of his own.
On a personal level, I learned a great deal from trying to learn his solos straight from the records. It took me for ever as I wasnt very good, but it was well worth it, and I learned a lot. I loved his tone, which was perfect for the music he played.
A very sad day, for me
