I've got a couple of decent MM's, so would like to see what the MC fuss is all about ;) and this seems to have a good reputation for a reasonable price.

So, has anybody got a spare kicking around that they would like to sell me ?

I'm sure you'd find the Dynavector pleasant Mike. But it's not the most rewarding intro into MCs. A low output type will offer more.

If you insist on trying a high output type. Why not have Jamie's DL-160? It's every bit as good.

I've had a DL-160 and a 110 and wasn't particularly impressed with either to be honest Geoff.

A great start with MC's is a Denon DL304.

It is quite a low output cartridge though!

I bit the bullet and bought Jamies 160, despite not getting on with it in my Lenco / Jelco TT and gee, it's good. Enjoying this (and Jamie packs stuff like a man obsessed) !

A great start with MC's is a Denon DL304.

It is quite a low output cartridge though!

I've had a couple of those. Very refined and detailed, but I found it a bit lacking in drama and weight. It's the opposite of the DL-103R really.

I've always enjoyed them. At the money, even second hand, there's not a lot that competes. Have you noticed how quiet it is on surface noise?

Certainly have. Fairly lively but refined cart. Just seems to lack a bit of detail and openness/ air. Very good cart for the price though.
