Rega Saturn

Anyone have any experience of the Rega Saturn cd player ?

I hear it might be pretty good...

I bought one a couple of years ago as an attempt to upgrade from my modded Arcam Alpha+. On the first track it was impressive, on the 2nd track it was too impressive and after an hour of listening I found it tiresome to listen to. IME (or at least the example I had) they sound a bit forward in the upper midband with thin bass and old-Naim type of timing. Mine sat on the floor for several days and I had no desire to listen to it, until a friend came round to provide a 2nd opinion. He thought the same. We tried a few different amps etc but nothing gelled with the Satan.
FWIW I now have a Pi2 and IQDAC+ and the Arcam sits unused.
