Give the lens a clean before you do anything involving cash and another being.

Yes but unfortunately only 3 years on items with moving parts so that puts cdps out

I'd try Bryston and see how they play it. Wasn't there an amendment to the sale of goods act recently such that despite whatever the guarantee offered, things had to function for a reasonable amount of time?

Bryston are no help , spoke to JAmes Tanner and although he talks a good talk sales and money are more important. Will have to send to PMC in UK for full service.

Thanks all

Just replace the whole mech or laser unit that should fix it. It's the Philips L1210, some are available on eBay.

That's sad/bad news Anthony. I used to have a very good opinion of Bryston, especially of their after-sales service; still have a high regard as regards build quality and SQ, but servicing? Think I'll have to have a re-think. Not good! :(

Disgraceful of them I have to say. It will eventually filter through and their sales will suffer; not that it helps you Anthony, but Karma is always a sucker:)

Yes I for one will never buy from Bryston again
As for the mechanism Bryston cdp has a special key which was only given to dealers so I can't even get the lid off myself , it's kinda like an odd fit allen

A photo of one of the fixtures would help.
I doubt that Bryston would have a custom device.
