New to site

Hello I am new to this site. Just a quick bit about my audio life. Sounds funny audio like but that is what it is. Anyhow I listen to vintage gear, all LPs and tape then of course radio. How else can a man find a good blues show without a nice vintage Fisher tuner.? And that is the music I grew up with all of my life is the blues a lot of styles but always the blues.
Hope to not treat on anyones toes and just enjoy the audio systems that some of use enjoy and the record labels that put them out.

I listen to all vintage audio tubes. A few set ups and am planning on doing a upgrade change well having it done.
Currently Pilot SA-260 amp
Dynaco Pas 3X pre
Bozak B-4000 speakers great upgrade of the crossovers guy on west coast
Fisher 90 X tuner
Music Hall MMF-5 first gen glass platter Getting ready to change the cart to a Ortofon 2M Red
old great sherwood cassett player records great bought new many years ago

Plan on simple rebuild on a pair of Dynaoco MK IVs just looking for a person near by who knows how to do a great job on it.

Welcome from me.Just picked up a cd , The Bluesmen, original recordings by Sonny Terry , Brownie McGhee, Big Bill Broonzy, will enjoy in a while with a glass (or more) of "bourbon" even tho' my preference is 60's /70's rock p.s tell us about your system (hope you've got some good American vintage "toob" gear. Yea I got bit with the blues bug young and nothing hits me like some Lightnin Hopkins, Son House, Honeyboy Edwards you know the men who have kept the blues alive thru the years. Muddy's trip to Chicago changed a lot of peoples lives and made Chess what it was and is. Like that song "Dont start me to talkin" I will tell ya everything I know. Something like that never could sing or spell for that matter.

Welcome to AoS John,

Yes, there are quite a few Blues fans here (I'm one of them), but the the Blues is often regarded as a bit of a niche interest. The Blues was my first love and still is, though that quickly expanded to encompass jazz (both trad and modern), classical of all periods and '50/'60's rock 'n' roll and pop.

Do you still use your 'vintage' gear? Apart from the Fisher tuner what have you got? We love vintage kit here. :)

One final question: what is the meaning of your forum name "57blues"? Does it refer to a Blues player of 1957?
