Radford TT100

[Wakefield Turntables]

I've been offered one of these but can find very little on the net. I've read a few reports that it's quite a good amp but would like the input from the AOS crowd. ;) Have any of you heard one or had any experience with this amp? It's probably gonna be partnered with a croft micro basic or the original radford sc25 preamp into my tannoy 15mg's.

I haven't heard one but do remember a very good review at the time, which I no doubt have somewhere but it would be a major undertaking to find!!
An odd hybrid with a valve output stage and solid state input section ,with KT88 output valves and rated at 100WPC IIRC but I'm sure you know that..

William (Moores) pointed out that Radford's TT100 had a near-identical KT88 output stage (Radford went to solid state designs for some years after the STA100, then BACK to valves, at least for the output stage, for the later TT100 - though this was a hybrid amp with a FET input stage). But the output transformers in the TT100 were wound for 4-8 ohms - much more sensible for modern speaker loads than the 8-16 ohm/100v setup of the original STA100.
