Looking for a minidisc player to replace my recently defunct Sony MDS-JB 940. Preferably a Sony machine. A Sony MDS-JB930 or something in the JA series would fit the bill.

Anyone have one they wish to sell?

Cheers,Ray

Hi Ray,

Can you not repair the 940? I have 2 of them and they are really good machines, what was the issue with your one?

Hi Nigel
It does every function except record?! I get a C14 TOC error. It goes through the process of recording but does not update the TOC after it's supposedly recorded?! It just wipes the disc? I've lost a couple of albums now,but i've got wise to it!

You could always record on a portable one and still use the 940 as a playback unit i suppose. Could be dirt or a loose connection.

Hi Grant
Suppose I could? but really want to keep everything in one box! I've cleaned the lens and made sure none of the ribbons are loose but too no avail!
But thaks Grant for your input.

Cheers,Ray

You haven't given us an idea of what you're willing to spend, perhaps that may help attract sellers?

Free bump :)

Hi Andrew
A good point!
Ok will pay up to £70 including delivery (shouldn't cost a lot!). Remote control would be nice but will take a machine without.

Cheers, Ray

I gave my Minidisc player to my son some years ago and it's been languishing in his loft. The only thing I remember is that it was a Sony - I've asked him to take a look at the model number.

The box is long gone so posting's out - how far can you travel just in case .....?

Hi Bob
I could probably get down to Birmingham by train. I don't drive anymore!
Yes, please let me know what model number it is .

Ray, sorry for the delay. My son moved house in December and hasn't unpacked everything yet.

It's a JB930, condition looks good, couple of fine scratches on the top from it being stacked. He thinks the remote is in another box somewhere: he'll look this weekend.
