The Weather

Have you ever noticed that the weather forecast is alway bright, hot and sunny for the south of England but always miserable and dreary for the north...??? Even when my car is indicating an outside temperature of 26 degrees C the weather forecast claims it will not get above 17...!!! If the south coast of England was indeed always so warm and sunny then it follows that the north coast of France would be the same...??? It is not...!

I do not wish to know what the weather is doing right now. I can look out of the window and find that out. The weather forecast is supposed to be just that...! A forecast. Why then does the BBC website get it wrong constantly...??? I just wish I could get paid around 42k a year for simply making something up and convincing a whole nation I am right.

I do know that something odd is happening to the passage of the Gulf Stream apparently and that it seems to be dipping a little too low into Scotland, causing all the rain they're supposed to be having..

We have a micro-climate in our little peninsula, being surrounded by water on three sides. Even our nearest big town 13 miles up the road has slightly different weather to us here.

If the Gulf Stream stops flowing,we will have the same weather as Newfoundland! We're on the same latitude.We all moan about the climate here,but it would be far harsher without the Gulf Stream.It's why they have palm trees in Fort William,so stop moaning unless you like the idea of 7 month winters!!

And another thing!! :)
Over 20 years ago I started working for a firm in Leeds.I used to laugh to myself coz they called it the "north".I got tired of pointing out that it took me 6 hours of driving north from there to get home. :scratch:
