After a failed attempt first time round with a lack of knowledge and patience, I would like to give the Pi another chance.

Rather than try and use the Iqaudio DAC, I want to use my HRT Microstreamer III USB DAC, so hopefully making set up simpler.

My objective is to loose the laptop that I'm using with my system (HRT DAC, Lehhman Linear Headphone amp and Sennheiser HD600 headphones) and connect wirelessly to our main PC in another room. I have all my music files on an external hard drive and I use Spotify. I'd want to control using my Android phone/tablet.

Firstly, is this possible? and secondly could anyone offer any advice on the simplest way of achieving this?

Many thanks in advance,

Bill.

If you want Spotify then I think Volumio is likely the most straightforward route.

I'm not entirely clear what you mean to connect to the 'main pc' - set the pi up with the external drive and control it from your laptop, phone, or the 'main pc'

Have you got wifi on the pi?
