I'm reluctantly parting with this lovely DAC as it's sitting unused, my new amp has a direct digital input.
It's essentially a clone of the Electrocompaniet ECD-1, made by the chap who designed most of the Eletrocompaniet gear, Per Abrahamsen. I compared it to an ECD-1 and they sounded identical. This was with the original DAC board; a couple of years after the DAC was introduced the DAC boards were changed due to an intermittent fault on some units. This unit for sale has been upgraded with the new board supplied by Abrahamsen and sounded quite a bit better afterwards.
There are 2 coaxial inputs that will accept 24-bit, 192kHz signals and one Toslink input that takes up to 24/96. There is also a USB input which is limited to 16/44.1. Outputs are either via RCAs or balanced XLRs.
It's in superb condition and in the original box and packaging. I'd like £300 which will include delivery within the UK.
