valve pre/phono amp

hi,might be buying the wad pre,power supply/phono amp,its the smaller 3 box version,was wanting to know any ones thoughts on it,i have a musical fidelitya1 fbp,wad kt88,croft twin star,phono amp at the moment is astintrew at8000,yours charlie

I had the WAD Phono 3 and PSU3 as my second phono stage hooked into my TRON Meteor (with an inbuilt MC only phono). The Phono 3 was really good, easily as good as an EAR 834P IMO. It's not as good as my replacement TRON Seven Reference, but that is many times the cost of the WAD. Good thing is that you can tweak the WAD Phono 3 if you're good with a soldering iron.

Saw that combo for sale. May well be very good; it certainly looks good.

hi,thanks for reply.ihad a 834p myself,great mid and top,did you find the wad,tighter,cleaner than the ear,not sure if they are mks3its the 3 smaller boxes,will find out more today,he seems to be busy,yours charlie
