Effective mass question

When reading the specs for the SL1200 I see an effective mass of 12g. My question is the 7g headshell included in this figure

You could always have a chat with Slartibartfast - he has seen the video playback and knows what happened. Got an award you know (Slartibartfast) for his work on Norway. Lots of detail around the crinkly bits .....
