As we have moved a piano into the music room, I've had to move all the stereo around a bit. This is the third attempt to settle on a 'final solution'.

Got it all set up and there was the most 'orrible' honk you can imagine. The room is an odd shape with unequal dimensions. I slowly moved the Quads out and are now six feet from the back wall, about a third of the way down the room and although there is a tiny trace of the honk, in general, the system has never sounded so good in this room. It was never intended to be the music room but Ronnie's sewing room!!

What was to be the music room is not yet finished and in any case, it turns out that the party wall is thin in that section of the house and the bloody neighbours can hear too much. Rats.

Anyway, even the Airport from the Mac sounds OK now so there has been progress. The differences between sources are more obvious now. Heirachy is Mac, Pioneer upside down CD, OL RB250/Technics 205/Creek phono and at the top Steadman/Arnold linear tracker/ AT cart and Firebottle phono. The bass on both arms is fab and makes the Quads seem even less in need of a sub than usual.

Now that is a remarkably good question!:)

There is a list you see. It's a very long list. As all the wall are natural stone, we have to use lime based paint. It ain't cheap. We are working our way through the list but painting the walls is quite near the bottom.

Good to see that getting the system set up properly takes priority over the decoration - all as it should be :) I take I the frames on the ESL are your own creation? They look really good.

It was the first room we did and we've lived with it for nine years but as I said, the list is long. Yup, the frames I did a while back, sound much cleaner than the heavy oak stands they were on before.

Tee hee....actually its the stitch that makes it look busted as I'm sure you are aware - I hadn't noticed that it hadn't done it seamlessly.. The unit is made of much thicker stuff than it appears. Its about 4 cms thick chipboard but has solid oak profiled edging. Hopefully it will stand the weight. The Stereo 20 is only a likkle one really.

Ahh, yes, i did notice on the other pick with doors shut there is no sagging!:)
