Hi Guys

Been using this amplifier for the past 4 years but i noticed yesterday that at the lowest volume its a little crackly on rotation from 0 on the right channel this is on all inputs:scratch: . Tried using some switch cleaner but seems to be still their but with this modal it could be a sign of a cap going bad? Any thoughts on what it could be i have plenty of back up amplifiers anyway if the worst comes i will sell it on. Question is if its not a cap is it OK to use its not a loud crackle its barely noticeable but its niggling me.

If it only crackles when you turn the pot then it must be the pot.
Switch cleaner doesn't always work first time if the fluid doesn't reach the correct spot.

Hi Dan
I was recommended some 'Caig Deoxit Contact Cleaner' which is supposed to be the best. I've already given my whole system a clean up with the stuff. It's not cheap though, I think I paid about £20 for my tin

Don't worry I haven't forgotten about our 'mini bake-off' it's just that I've been pretty busy, I won't bore you with the details. If you want I'll bring the Deoxit with me when we do meet up so you can try it out, and maybe treat the rest of the system with it as well ;)
