I've got these up for sale.
I bought them used on another forum a few years ago thinking they were Type 5, but someone has raised a query about the id, and while the colour scheme looks right the cables themselves don't quite match the pics I have found on t'net.

Any XLO cable experts here who can enlighten me? :)

These are mine ...

The ones on this link look like mine and are said to be Type 5, but other pics show Type 5 as fatter and smooth ...

Maybe they changed the design? -- or maybe that seller got it wrong, too.

I tried sending XLO a query at the email address from their website - http://www.xloelectric.com/contact.php - but the email was returned as undeliverable. Are XLO now defunct?

Good question Jerry. I've tried to look up some XLO designs in the past and also encountered somewhat contradictory information. You can still buy new XLO cables on eBay but I'm not sure if they still exist or not either. Not much help but I sympathise with your confusion both over the identification of the cable and the company.

Hi Jerry

I am pretty sure they are Type 6, Type 5 was slightly fatter and smoother. Here is a link to a listing for XLO Type 5 with pictures http://www.tmraudio.com/product/tmr-697

Great cable and if they were 5 m runs I would buy them as I have a 5m pair already and could find a use for a second set.

XLO is still trading as far as I know http://www.xloelectric.com/ but also has a new spin off company a subdivision of Ultralink/XLO Products, Inc called Argentum Acoustics http://www.argentumacoustics.com/

Ok bit of a look and Ultralink bought out XLO in 2002 but XLO kept trading. Ultralink are still trading http://www.gentec-intl.com/all-brands/?s=+&brandID=125&page=5&brandxID[]=125 but I can't find any current indication of XLO

If the UK distributor is still trading, he did Revox and Wadia at one time they would know but I can't remember their name.

Musical Design Company and the guy in charge was Ian Bolt

Ah, OK, thanks Barry - I guess it is Type 6 then, although I can't find any info on that!

I tried stretching it to 5m, but :nono: :(
