Time has come for these and others to go before I can no longer get in the house. Having 8 sets of boxes is too many and have another set coming :eyebrows:
Lovely condition, Tannoy DC foorstanders these. Basically these are rebadged d500's done in black as far as I know for the uk market. They are thus then, again as far as I can make out, 3 way speakers with a closed box design for the woofer.
I have bought large sheets of cardboard and packing so will now be able to post, although in 2 boxes. No idea what it'll cost but anyone buying can tell me who the want to use and I will arrange it, or if they wish they can do it themselves...pick up is also most welcome. i HAVE THE GRILLS THAT ARE IN GREAT CONDITION AS WELL. These are very popular in the States

HARD TO FIND THESE IN GENERAL AND USE THE SAME OR VERY SIMILAR DRIVER AS THE SYSTEM 800 i BELIEVE THAT WILL COST YOU A LOT MORE.

He is scratching his itch Gary.. not had any feed back yet so likely wont suit his room....but its worth a try for him. after saying that, his room is longer than mine so they may work well

Not really . well I suppose so. they were 3 tier tables(I got them in Aldi) I made into single tier with double thick glass and some acoustic foam on top. I also got some round dolly's from Aldi that were the right size. I found the dollys better. I was going to put some round marble slabs like ones for the kitchen on them but as I am not using them now I never got round to it. They are great speakers but I have gone a different route now with full range ones. If they dont sell I will possibly go back to them though as its a different sound and a great one.

Brian, how do they compare to your Monitor Audios?

Morning Paul . The Tannoys have quite a different presentation to the MA 852s . The soundstage of the Tannoys is bigger and wider . Bass also goes a bit deeper and is nice and tight with the big Tannoys .The midrange and top end are also very clear and extended . Voices are projected a little further into the room than the MAs can manage and the whole presentation is smooth and non fatiguing . You could listen to the Tannoys for hours on end without tiring of the sound .
The Tannoys are obviously much larger than the MAs , so much so that I couldn't physically use them permenantly in my room for fear of them being struck by an inswinging door. If this had not been the case I would probably have gone out of my way to raise the funds and bought them off Grant . They are very nice speakers indeed and are in first class condition .
