I have bought valves from Langrex supplies when they were based in Thornton Heath (Croydon) and never had a problem
With them.
The valves I bought were new old stock.

I'd check their feedback. If your assertion is true there are bound to be some negatives to support it.

Well so far, no negative feedback on their page. Just a few common neutrals.
Some of the people over on the Steve (Hoffman) forums, was moaning about fake Siemens NOS tubes being sold by Yitry.
I see Yitry are selling EL-34 tubes with the Langrex name printed on them. Of course, made in China :)

Hi Shane,
I spoke to Langrex about this very issue on Thursday as it happens. The fact is Siemens never made EL34s they lsbeled and boxed them from OEM sources. When you look for NOS Siemens EL34s what most people expect is RFTs as the majority were from that factory. The ones that Langrex have now are not fakes, but they are not RFT's. They have a dome top and are Teslas from just before. JJ took over the company and appear to be the same as the current JJ version, so nothing special, but not fake as they were marketed by Siemens with their own label and box.
Hope this helps solve the problem

I too have used Langrex, they have been great with me. Are they not in the UK anymore then?
CVC are also good but are of the 'leg lifting' variety these days.
Billington - same
The best place to buy valves IMO are:
Langrex - good
'NOS Tube Store' (who I think is a member here, need to check)
'Tube Monger'.
Hot Rox are superb!
I've tried Mullard Magic, he seems ok too...
Watford Valve are good.
Upscale Audio are good too. And they cryo them too.

Haha... ok :)
Leg lifter = A person who is wanting you to pay more for something that is more expensive than it should be, verging on taking the pish or 'having you on'.
Of course, I'm only talking about the valves I've looked for. They might have some bargains.

+1 - I've had some great valves from them in the past, not one failed either.
I've had a few from CVC that have failed but they replaced them with no bother.
All the valves from both places (and others listed) were NOS. Inc. ECC88, 82, 83, 6SN7, 6SL7, KT88, EL34 to name a few.
HotRox were super with new reproduction 6SN7's, 6SL7's, KT88's, KT120's
i just took delivery of 2 Mullard 5654 tubes/valves - matched new old stock, spotted the really good feedback & a guy called 'Dan' replied promptly when i asked a question about the fitting/replacing the cheap chinese 6J1 tubes/valves. No idea if they are fake, but surely there would be bad feedback on eBay if they were. They seem genuine enough company to me!

Great thing about Langrex is that they've been about for ages, way before the internet. I have bought many valves from them in the past, mostly NOS GEC KT66 & GZ32 for my Quad IIs. Always sensibly priced and excellent service.
