Hi All,

I bought this Trio/Kenwood KA-900 integrated amplifier to pinch the quality mains transformer out of for another project, as it has centre tapped dual windings.

But after setting the offset and bias and giving it a listen realised it would be an offence to break this up for bits.

It has a phono mm and mc preamp which I can't check out as I don't use records anymore, but seems ok.

So dual power supply with quality Elna capacitors etc..
85 watts per channel.
Well designed tone controls.
Hi-End vintage.

Spec is pretty good.

£85 P&P

Unusual looking amp, and the heat pipe heatsink arrangement.

Cracking photos Duncan, a good offer I reckon,

Does anyone think this might be a good amp for a pub? (I know someone looking to do a cheap pub hifi improvement, not sure this is powerful enough?)

I replaced all trim pots,
Calibrated both offsets to give 0mv on phono preamp and power input stages,
Setup both bias to give 30mA as stated by the service manual.

Now sold.

Thanks

I bought this amp from Duncan. It was packed absolutely bomb proof, is in excellent condition, works perfectly and sounds stupidly / ridiculously good for the money, a real eye opener in fact. The Sigma drive for the speakers (500 damping factor !) controls the bass cones like you would not believe. Tight and blisteringly quick.

I say it so often, but what have we been doing for the last 30 years ?

Thanks Duncan.
