Dual voicecoil 8" subwoofer drive unit, brand not known. Pretty hefty speaker with a steel chassis and big magnet. Two sets of terminals 4 ohms each, can be wired in series to give 8 ohms. Durable rubber surround and decent paper pulp cone. In good working order. Surplus to requirements, so asking £15 & carriage (UK).

I could be wrong. Doesn't B&W use a driver like that for their subs?

Well spotted Shane. I thought so too, it does look like it, but as it's not marked I don't know, so I didn't mention it. Nice unit though.

may I ask why would you wish 2 voice coils on a sub? out of interest as not heard of that before Geoff

One for each channel of a stereo amp giving a 'summed' output. Can be wired in series for single subwoofer amp.

Geoff, how well would this work in a 50 litre sealed cab?

Should be OK with correct subwoofer equalisation and if ported maybe a bit of experimental port tuning. I've actually still got a brand new complete Celestion sub amplifier plate/panel I bought to drive this correctly. I'll need to flog that too shortly. I believe (as I think has been mentioned) that this drive unit is from a B&W speaker.

Dos the amp have equalisation? Just thinking I have a cab cut to take an 8 inch driver.

The amp is fully equalised for sub use, with varying filters etc. I can dig it out tomorrow and take a photo if you like.

That would be good. How much were you thinking of asking for the set?
