Things that you hate but love about your system...

I hate its the ruthless nature of exposing a shit recording on vinyl. I love the extremely wide cohesive soundstage that produces with well recorded vinyl.

I prefer to try and get the more ropey records sounding good.
Great recordings and pressings sound great no matter what you play 'em on, a Dansette will do, but if you can get a ropey record to sound really good, well that properly tells you how good your system is.

My system could/can be a tad ''full on'' at times. But, the musicality and pace stays consistent!

Even crap pressings/recordings sound OK on my system. Good ones sound superb!

And yes, I love my Tannoys too. (and my amps and TT and MCs and DACs and CD players) :lol:

I have got a library of great recordings, my point is that they sound great on a shit system as well as a decent system.
In my opinion running the gamut of my great sounding recordings to assess the sound quality of a new component is a fool's errand.
It's gonna sound great regardless .....
Now some of my more interesting records only revealed their delights as the quality of the system and the system's setup improved.

I would rather have a library of recordings I love, regardless of their quality. If I can't enjoy listening to my collection, I think my system is letting me down.

But of course, I do enjoy listening to the great recordings :)

ditto...most of my records are not of modern audiophile quality but they are part of who I am....thats why I can listen to scratchy recordings on my wind up with as much enthusiasm

The only thing I hate about my system is that it doesn't have enough VU meters. Other than that, it's perfect!

Every vintage piece I have has it's issues which could niggle more if they were not producing lovely sounds. Lettering worn, dings on wooden cases, no wood case scratches so minor only you would know about.

The biggest niggle is the turntable. I have it by kind of accident and it's beautiful perfect etc but I just can't be assed to faff around with vinyl. Happy with high res don't need to do the post grad in SME thanks
