Hello I have joined this group as I saw an advert for the sale of some Proac Carbon 8s - but without matching curtains!
I have had Meridian 8000s 6000s 5500s 861v6 md600 amps 557s and 559s but got fed up with the attitude of the new Meridian owners and converted to Bryston/Electrocompaniet/B&W 802ds + lots more
I am now looking for Proac Carbons if anyone out there knows of any available?

Welcome to AoS Richard,

Some nice gear you have there: I'm an admirer of both Bryston and Electrocompaniet gear. If you can manage it, some photos of your system would be good to see. :)

What are your tastes in music?

Enjoy the Forum

Barry

Hello Richard. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure you'll find plenty to interest you here.

Looks like you have a nice system.

Thank you
The electrocompaniet amps are largish oblong boxes with the nice front and connections all the way at the back.
To link with the speakers to avoid being routed round the back of the amp, the amp need to be at least sideways!
Because of this the nice front is not towards the room centre or viewing point
Again because the sizing is odd, it won't fit into a rack, so I have put each 180 mono block on top of 2 REL 528SE subwoofers (which seem reasonably stable/dampened re vibration
I need to look for an isolation block I suppose.
In other words, not a particularly attractive picture! A work in progress it seems unfortunately ... still.

That's a shame as Meridian make and have made some very nice kit. I own a G02 pre and matching power amplifier and they are very nice, only sins of omission not so much commission.

Anyway welcome to AOS
