Hi there. My name, you've probably guessed, is Herman and I live about 80km north of Toronto, Canada. I am in my late 60's, retired for about 20 years and have been listening seriously since 1966. Content includes large scale classical, choral, chant and chamber from Renaissance to 19th century, opera, rock, jazz, blues, world and pop. Over the years i have burned through a few dollars in my quest for audio Nirvana, Have given up looking>>>> current front-ends are an EAR 192 Dacute that is fed (via a Stello U3) by a notebook PC running both TIDAL and a pocket hard drive that contains the 500 or so CD's recently ripped to it. My preferred front end is an old LP12 with EKOS/ARKIV, Cirkus Lingo and recently installed Keel (did they take out the Cirkus when they installed the Keel?). I run an Audio Note Meishu phono but don't use the phono stage, instead preferring an EAR 834P, and an ancient pair of Audio Note AN-J boxes. Speaker cables are 20 year old Cardas. Some new BIS and Nordost power cords and interconnects.

That's a nice system. Nothing wrong with old AN-Js. Sounds like you're about my age. There are quite a few older members here and plenty of whippersnappers.

If you have any plans for equipment changes or have projects in mind, do let us know. We like to hear what people are doing.

My parents thought about emigrating to Canada in the '50s, but for some reason decided not to do so. I have an aunt who married a Canadian and who now lives there.

A big coop society offered him the manager job and a private plane or helicopter was part of the deal as it was a huge area. he was going to take it but decided as my brother was in his highers that he didnt want to disrupt his education.

Hi Herman , I have close and distant relatives in Toronto and vancouver (most of which I have never met ) was in Toronto Oct 2014 and so God help me did not wish to leave.

Nordost? , could you state which powers and I/C's . I am using a Heimdall 2 on my Canadian made cdp (Bryston) and it is the best powercord that has been on it.

Just gone is the YBA CD3 player and the Nakamichi ZX-9 is waiting for a lucky bidder.
the interconnects between the integrated amp and the head amp and DAC are Red Dawns, as is the PC on the Meishu. The USB from computer to the Stell0 U3 and the digital interconnect from the Stello to the DAC are BIS, as is the PC on the DAC Can't figure out how to add images

Hi Herman and welcome! I am on the west coast in a burb of Vancouver. I too am running a Meishu (Silver Phono) with an Audio Note AN-S2/H SUT, into some AN-E SPE HE speakers.

Nice group here. I find this forum and Steve Hoffman forums to be the nicest to deal with. You can have a conversation without it spinning out of control : )
