I recently bought this excellent pre from Grant - and it is every bit as good as he promised.
Now my problem --- I have a large and unexpected car repair bill appear out of nowhere and need the funds to pay for it.
My first thought --- because this is such a great piece of kit - was to replace the Croft 7 power amp I was using to partner the Copper and instead use a Trends T amp ( pictured) to power the pre. The Trends is a great little T amp IMHO but the synergy isnt there --- the synergy that was so apparent with the Croft ---- the pre amp deserves a decent power amp to drive it to the level it is clearly capable of.
So with some regret I offer the pre ( rather than the Croft ) for sale.
I will keep the Croft and use it as a single source integrated which is far from a hardship !
I paid Grant £240 for the amp at offer it for sale at the same price - all I have done is to replace the feet with soundcare superspikes but offer it at the same price ( and will include the 'old' feet if preferred) ... my photos arent great but I assure you any marking is just dust.
Grant made up an ingenious box and so I can post safely

Grant, do you *actually* realise what you’re letting go?
Duncan builds kit to the highest possible audio standards (using superb electronic parts), as he enjoys building stuff. When he sells it on, he charges ONLY for the cost of the parts used. It bears no reflection whatsoever on the sonic ability of the item concerned.
Therefore, what you have there is an active valve preamp that could easily compete with commercial items costing up to £3k! I kid you not, so think very hard before you part with this, as you’ll struggle big time trying to replace it, especially with the budget you usually have available to spend on gear.
